Deepwoods Drive

The Deepwoods Residence is a complete transformation of a 1965 single-story home, reimagined by Studio Penhaskashi as a modern architectural retreat rooted in the landscape of Northwest Hills. The home unfolds as a luminous, open interior anchored by a sculptural kitchen of walnut cabinetry and Venetian plaster, where restrained detailing and natural materials create warmth, texture, and permanence. Light moves deliberately through the spaces, softening transitions and establishing a quiet dialogue between architecture and the surrounding canopy.

A detached casita extends the living environment, creating a flexible compound for guests, work, or retreat. The project reflects Studio Penhaskashi’s commitment to honoring Austin’s mid-century legacy while introducing a refined contemporary language—one defined by clarity, craftsmanship, and a lasting sense of place.
